Show St. Louis
2026: St. Louis, Meet Me.
Show St. Louis is a 9 month journey. High school students from across the St. Louis Metropolitan area work alongside one another to create an original evening of musical theater only possible in St. Louis. Supported by professionals and paid for their time, students are exposed to careers related to creating, marketing, and presenting live performance.
Work on the show will happen in weekly 4-hour sessions on Saturday mornings, October through May.
Fall Semester 2025: Material submissions, submission review, show planning
Spring Semester 2026: Show production, show performance
The show starts with submissions. Music, lyrics, scenes inspired by the 2026 theme: St. Louis, meet me. Please interpret this in the way that speaks to you:
a story of you and/or your life
a story of who St. Louis is through your life
a story of who St. Louis is as a city, as a place
a story of something that is set in any or all of the above
a story about how the first three are at odds, or work together well
something else entirely that the prompt “St. Louis, meet me” inspires in you
The only requirement is that, in your mind, what you submit is intended to be included in a musical.
Submissions do not have to be polished, or even finished. A submission might be:
a poem you write (or already wrote) that comes to mind when you read the prompt
a reel or TikTok
a photo you took that tells a story
a melody you write (or already wrote) that comes to mind when you read the prompt
a scene or sketch you write (or already wrote) inspired by the prompt
